To be an Air Cadet you must be 13 years old, or 12 years old if you are already in year 8 in school. The latest you can join is before your 17th birthday. Most cadets leave when they are 20 years old and some stay involved as an adult volunteer.

About RAF Air Cadets (1827 Odiham Squadron)
Are you up for fun, adventure, incredible experiences and making new friends? Are you looking for something to give you the edge in life? Air Cadets is a UK-wide cadet force with more than 40,000 members aged between 13 and 20 years. Air Cadets can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do.
The aims are to: Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people aged 13-18. Provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life. Encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.

User Cost/Charge Information
Each cadet pays a small subscription which goes towards funding the many activities they enjoy. Most squadrons charge around £10 per month to cover running costs, transport and other expenses. National and international camps and expeditions may be an extra cost.
