Church Rooms, Crondall

The church rooms are in Croft Lane just opposite the church and have recently been completely renovated. The facilities consist of the main room (with sink, microwave and kettle point), a smaller room with kitchen, 2 x toilets. Both rooms currently house the new Croft Cafe, open every Friday and Saturday 9.00-12.30, serving freshly ground coffee and tea, with fresh home-made cakes. Both cash and cards accepted. Dogs welcome!

About All Saints & St Mary's Churches

All Saints and St Mary's is the Anglican parish of Crondall and Ewshot villages, and part of the Diocese of Guildford. Their friendly church communities offer you a warm welcome in traditional Church of England style.
All Saints Church, Crondall is a Grade I listed building and stands at the highest point in the village. Much of the church dates from the Norman period, although the original central tower was replaced by a brick one at the north-east corner in 1659 and some alterations, particularly to the fenestration, the nave arcades and transepts, and the north porch, were made in two stages during the 19th century. In 2000 a major restoration programme was carried out with a new bell frame, refurbishment of the original 6 bells and the addition of 2 more to celebrate the new millenium. The pews seat around 220 people and the church has standing room only at Christmas, Easter and on Remembrance Sunday.
St. Mary’s Church was one of the earlier important buildings to appear in Ewshot, as the village took shape in the mid-19th century. Known as ‘the little church on the Common’ it was financed by local people, both rich and poor. It is built of stone and flint, in Early English style, to seat a congregation of 100.
