Fleet Division Guide Hall

About

The Guide Hall is a bespoke single-story building built in 2013 which was designed to provide adequate space to meet Girlguiding, community and other activity requirements.

The Guide Site and Hall is primarily used for Girlguiding activities, but lettings are made to others at the discretion of the leadership and subject to availability. A flexible approach to lettings has been adopted whereby the whole site, hall or individual rooms within the hall and/or the grounds can all be booked individually or together to meet any specific activity needs. Existing usage includes Girlguiding activities and other community-based activities such as U3A Pilates and social clubs for older people.

The Guide Hall is located within the Guide Site, which is accessible along an access lane from Basingbourne Park, and provides parking for approximately 5 cars. Other car parking is readily available in the Basingbourne Park car park, some 100m from the Guide Site. The Guide Site is a secure and safe location (lockable main gates and security fencing around the whole site) which includes a large open and wooded area for external activities to be undertaken.

A large patio area, which is covered by a barrel-vaulted polypropylene canopy 3.9m (L) x 7.5m (W) x 3.9m (H) provides an opportunity for external activities to be undertaken even during inclement weather and blocks virtually all UV radiation. External lighting is provided to allow the patio/canopy to be used at nighttime. It represents a perfect covered space with fresh air for all sorts of activities and socialising.

Facilities at the Guide Hall include:
• Entrance lobby (including a cloakroom toilet).
• Small Meeting Room.
• Large Meeting Room.
• Large Activity Hall approximately 15.5m (L) x 6.5m (W) x 2.3m/3.0m (H) with a high ceiling which can accommodate up to 150 people.
• A fully equipped kitchen. A roller shutter hatch serves the activities hall.
• 3 toilets including sinks and a butler sink.
• A disabled toilet.
• An electric shower in the disabled toilet room.
• Collapsible tables and chairs
• A projector and screen for presentations, etc.

Rainbows, Brownies & Guides in the Fleet Division. Division covers Fleet, Church Crookham, Crookham Village, Ewshot and Crondall. These groups meet at multiple venues across the area.
