Fleet Language Circle members come from across North East Hampshire and Surrey/Berkshire borders. The group has resumed face to face meetings at Fleet Bapist Church Hall on Thursday evenings 20.00-22.00 during term-time.

About Fleet Language Circle

Fleet Language Circle offer an opportunity to practise speaking French, German, Italian or Spanish. Fleet Language Circle are a friendly group of adults now meets each week to chat in a foreign language for two hours. There is no tuition. The level of conversation depends on who turns up on a particular evening. Sometimes conversation flows freely, sometimes we help out new members who are a bit rusty and sometimes we help each other with reading. As there tend to be about 5 or 6 people on a table, there are plenty of opportunities for new members to join in the conversation.

There are currently three tables, one each for French, German, and Spanish. Native speakers of these languages are very welcome and particularly anyone interested in boosting the Italian table. Language skills range from improvers to advanced. Many members use this to practice what they have studied at evening classes. There are two social evenings each year.

Fleet Language Circle is a non-profit making group and charges just enough to cover venue and insurance costs. In recent years, thanks to a thriving membership, the membership fee is £10 per term. Come along for the first couple of weeks without paying, to see if it suits you.
