About

Home-Start Hampshire can offer support to anybody that has at least one child aged 0-11 years, or is expecting a baby. The regular support can be provided in the home, in a group, or occasionally both.

Home-Start Hampshire supports families for a variety of reasons: They may be feeling isolated in their community, have no family nearby or be struggling to make friends. They may be finding it hard to cope because of their own or their child’s illness or disability. They may be struggling with the emotional and physical demands of having several young children. They may have complex needs that can impact on the childrens’ well-being, eg domestic abuse, debt, drug or alcohol misuse, poor living environment, etc.

Home-Start Hampshire run a range of family groups which are by referral only, third party or self-referral. The groups are supported by trained and experienced volunteers who will ensure you and your little one(s) are welcomed, feel safe and have a positive experience. Each of the groups provides a supportive community for parents with young children. They offer a safe and welcoming environment where parents can connect and receive support from staff, volunteers, and fellow parents.

Home-Start Hampshire run the following family groups in Hart and Rushmoor:
* Aldershot – Mondays 10.00-11:30 - Aldershot Garrison Community (a well-being support group for parents with a diagnosed mental health condition).
* Aldershot – Tuesdays at 10.00-11.30 - North Town Community Base
* Hook – Wednesdays 10.00-12.00 - Elizabeth Hall for families living in Odiham, Hartley Wintney and Hook.
* Farnborough – Wednesdays 10.00-11.30 - Farnborough Grange Infant Community School.
* Church Crookham – Thursdays 10.00-11.30 - The Scout Hut, Basingbourne Woods (*Starting September 2026*)

About Home-Start Hampshire

Home-Start is a voluntary organisation in which volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to young families under stress to help give their children the best possible start in life. Home-Start carefully selects a volunteer, who has parenting experience themselves. They then regularly visit the family, in their own home, offering emotional and practical support through difficult times for as long as it is helpful or needed.

Home-Start Hampshire covers the following areas, Gosport, Fareham, Havant, Meon Valley, New Forest, Hart and Rushmoor, Weywater (Alton, Bordon, Liphook).
