About

Oakwood Community Pre-school accepts children from 2 years up to school age and can take approx. 50 children per session. They have two rooms which enables them to offer an environment tailored to the children’s needs. A minimum of two sessions are requested to help your child to become familiar with the pre-school and their key person and vice versa.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am-3.00pm during term-time (38 weeks of the year). Children may attend for a morning or afternoon session or for the whole day.

Sessions times are:
Mornings 9:00am to 12:00pm
Afternoons 12:00pm to 3:00pm (incorporates lunch)
All Day 9.00am to 3.00pm

Music with John
John Humphries comes once a week to do a music session at the pre-school. He tries to come on different days, to give all the children an opportunity to join in. There is no additional cost for this.

Oakwood Community Pre-school is a committee based pre-School aiming to provide all children and families within the community, access to high-quality care and education. The pre-school aims to enhance the development and education of children aged 2 years to statutory school age. They believe that children thrive when they are in a welcoming, stimulating environment where they have the freedom to make positive choices and learn through active play, both indoors and outside.

User Cost/Charge Information
Government funding can be obtained once your child turns two, if certain criteria are met. After your child has turned three, you will be eligible for Government Funding. Further information is available through the pre-school or via the website and there is an online eligibility checker at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

£8.50 per hour for children aged 2-3 years attending (younger) Acorn Room.
£8.25 per hour for children aged 3 yrs+ attending (older) Oak Tree room.
