Recovery College (North East Hampshire & Farnham)
About
Courses run by the Recovery College (NE Hampshire & Farnham) are aimed at adults who want to learn how to improve their health and wellbeing, including people who use mental health services, friends, carers, family and staff (this includes people who work or volunteer for a community organisation which operates in the catchment area). Courses cover topics such as Confidence & Self-Esteem, Managing Mental Health at Work, Understanding Mental Health Medication, Understanding Depression & Anxiety and much more.
NEW! SABP have also started Autism Awareness and ADHD Awareness courses, eg Introduction to the Autistic Spectrum course and Post-Diagnostic ASD Course.
All courses are run by Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust staff working with their "recovery coaches", who all have lived experience of mental or physical illness, or are supporting someone with a mental or physical illness.
Courses are open to anyone who lives in Surrey or North East Hampshire who:
- is aged 18+
- registered with a GP practice in the catchment area
- wants to improve their health and wellbeing
- has a physical and / or mental health condition(s)
- or is a family member or carer of someone who has a physical and/or mental health condition(s)
- or works in a voluntary or statutory organisation and wants to learn more about recovery
Courses are offered in person or online or at local venues.
