Hart's Community Garden

About

Hart's Community Garden is located within Edenbrook Country Park in Fleet, with road access off Pale Lane, RG27 8BA (between the railway bridge and hump-back bridge) or via footpaths from other points in Edenbrook Country Park.
The creation of this shared space has been a collaboration between Hart District Council’s Countryside team and Hart Voluntary Action (HVA). Hart's Community Garden is well-designed with fully accessible pathways, seating and composting toilet. There are raised beds, polytunnels and a wooden gazebo enabling all year-round activity with a range of access requirements and disabilities in mind.
HVA manages the Hart's Community Garden, offering opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved in a social, creative and supportive growing space where a friendly welcome and a cup of tea is always close at hand.
The space will be cared for collectively by members, bringing people together from different backgrounds and of different abilities to relax, engage with nature, meet others and grow together in a social way. Hart's Community Garden aims to provide opportunities for local people to look after their physical health and mental wellbeing, helping them to stay well and feel connected.
People can join as individual members, as part of a group or as someone with additional needs who would benefit from more support within a structured session. For those individuals who require more input and support from community garden staff, a person-centred plan can be designed alongside them. Other community organisations can also book access to the garden for their own gardening or other outdoor activity for their members or clients.
Please note that there are a number of "free" memberships available for unpaid carers during 2025/26 courtesy of Hart Voluntary Action.
