About

To be an Air Cadet you must be 13 years old, or 12 years old if you are already in year 8 in school. The latest you can join is before your 17th birthday. Most cadets leave when they are 20 years old and some stay involved as an adult volunteer.

Activities that the Air Cadets can get involved in are: Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Blue, Bronze, Silver & Gold. BTEC Level 2 in Aviation. BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork & Personal Development. BTEC Level 2 in Music for Practical Performance. Essential First Aid, Youth First Aid and Activity First Aid. Wing competitions at Wing Activities Day. Target Shooting and Clay Shooting. Flying and Gliding. Canoeing / kayaking. Yateley Village Fayre. Water Station for Fleet 1/2 Marathon and Fleet 10K. Camps in the UK, Germany, Cyprus etc. Radio Comms/Cyber Courses. Adventure Training Camps. STEM camps. Parades - Battle of Britain and Remembrance Day. Poppy Collections and Wings Appeal Collections.

Parade Nights: Mondays and Thursdays 19.00-21.30.

About RAF Air Cadets (2407 Yateley & Eversley Squadron)

Air Training Corps - The ATC is the RAF's cadet force, divided into six regions, 36 wings and more than 900 squadrons within communities around the UK. Their aims are to: Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people aged 12-18; provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life; encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship. And there's one more important thing - it's a lot of fun!

User Cost/Charge Information
Each cadet pays a small subscription which goes towards funding the many activities they enjoy. Most squadrons charge around £10 per month to cover running costs, transport and other expenses. National and international camps and expeditions may be an extra cost.
